The first week of floor rehearsals is over and I have met the King, the Queen, the – extremely lavish!! – Duke of Montague, my servant and closest confidante John and a whole host of other interesting characters. Allow me to take you on a short journey introducing you to each of them!
The King, my dear father, played by the irrepressible Jim Welsman is keeping me on my toes with nagging me to form a marriage of alliance! I’m sure you all sympathise with me in the matter that marriage should be for those in love, but I assure you that holding your own against such a loveable and heart-winning actor such as Jim is not a task to envy!
The Queen, my mother, played by the understanding and ever-patient Jenny Cohen is more reasonable but refuses to back me up where marriage is concerned. The relationship between the King and Queen is a constantly amusing one – particularly her patience in the face of his eccentricities!
The Duke of Montague – played by Stephen Wright – is the most unusual of the characters I have met so far, his foppish demeanour and lack of spacial awareness make him – at times – an unnerving man to be around and particularly an unnerving man to hold a title in our dear kingdom of Euphrania.
My good friend John, played by cheeky chappy James Potter, is my right hand; whether listening patiently to my digressions about love, or keeping my mind at ease through the energy-sapping rigmarole of princely duties. He really is a helpful chap to have around.
Other interesting faces I have met include The Dowager Queen, my distinguished grandmother, played with much dignity by Joan Welsman; the unctuous Lord High Chamberlain, played with energetic self-importance by Rob Winlow and a host of others which I simply cannot wait for you to see.
More names and faces flutter on the wind around me as I gallop through the fields and fens of our Eupranian countryside – so many still to meet, and one name whispers on the breeze like no other, a name so ethereal I can hardly believe I hear it at all – Cinderella….
All left to do is continue with floor rehearsals, meet more new faces and come back to you with as much insight and as many secrets as I can fit under my spectacular tri-corn hat!

Actually your Royal Highness and with the greatest grovelling and respect humanly possible you seem to have missed the most important and significant member of this amazing show and cast. How do you think your household is managed and everyone in their right position at the right time – of course – this is only possible by yours truly Major Domo with my staff of status. You maybe high in the order of status in the royal household but I am number one in mine – for privilege is not you see confined to just the royalty.

Excellent
After receiving a letter through the post, my daughters were really excited and couldn’t wait to book tickets for the Slipper and the Rose production. After speaking to box office they are now very disappointed as the £5 advertised tickets are unavailable! We seem to have been mislead.
